Extended Learning Programs

Summer Program

SCA's Summer Learning Program offers supplemental academic enrichment in a Christian setting during the summer months to support a child’s growth and development while reducing the potential for summer learning loss. This program provides hands-on, engaging activities that allow children to explore unique topics of interest based on planned themes and curriculum (see below for this year's planned themes).

SCA’s Summer Learning Program is available to children entering Kindergarten and a minimum of 5 years of age to entering 8th grade in the school year directly following the summer program. However, activities are geared to ages 6 through 12.

Flexible schedules allow you to register your child(ren) for the days and weeks that best fit your family's needs. Be sure to review the Summer Learning Program Handbook for further details.

Schedule & Costs At-a-Glance:

  • Program runs from June 6 to August 12

  • Hours extend from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday

  • Registration fees are $150 per child (one-time, non-refundable)

  • Flexible schedule – daily or weekly and full or partial summer options available

  • Tuition costs are $175 per week per child or $45 per day per child (minimum of two days per week)

  • Several available discounts (e.g., siblings, enrolled at SCA, full payment)

  • Children must be registered and confirmed at least two weeks prior to attendance

Weekly Themes & Daily Program

Weekly themes are picked to provide focus to the child’s learning experience as well as to allow a thorough exploration of each week's topic. Each day, children will participate in morning worship, various small group activities and crafts, and active-play games as they dive deeper into the week’s theme. Many of the activities are drawn from the Seventh-day Adventist Church's Pathfinders program for which children will be able to earn reward patches for activities completed.

Other Program Highlights

  • Children will receive a special program shirt and water bottle as part of their registration (received on the first day of attendance).

  • Our program is project/craft and active-game heavy; great for children who enjoy hands-on projects.

  • Children will enjoy a mixture of all group games and activities as well as small group activities and projects each day.

  • Getting outside is important to us. Our program has opportunities each day for children to get outside and play in the fresh air, but these are scheduled with heat and sun exposure in mind by targeting mornings and shaded areas.

  • Morning worships feature several songs for children to sing and move to as well as a weekly Bible scripture and lesson focus.

Registration is open now! Spots are limited so don't delay!
